Sustainable by specification, not by slogan
Barriers, boards and polymers each behave differently at the recycling bin, and the honest answer depends on what you are serving. Our materials page sets out the options plainly, including where a water-based barrier keeps a cup inside paper recycling and where it will not.

Serviceware made from algae and spent coffee

Spent-coffee biocomposite
Coffee grounds diverted from waste and turned into a biomaterial. Natural colour only — which is the point, and a story your customers can see.
Double-wall recyclable biocomposite body with a food-contact silicone plug. 135 × 78 mm, 114 g, hot to 90 °C, hand wash.
Cocktail 140 and 200 mm, frozen 240 mm. No plastic, does not go soggy, no aftertaste. Paper wrapped, natural colour, print on the wrap.
Fork, knife and spoon at 180 mm, natural coffee colour, 7 g each. Supplied in packs for service.
What the manufacturer certifies
Bio-based certified. Food-contact safe. Microwaveable to three minutes. Free of BPA, phthalates and PFAS. These are the producer’s own certified claims, and we can supply the certification behind them on request.
Bio-based and compostable are different claims held to different standards. We will tell you which one a product actually carries rather than blurring the two.
Where it fits

Customisation & print
Packaging is the cheapest advertising space you own, and everything we supply is made to order — so printing it with your brand is the default, not an upgrade.

Finishing
Hot foil, embossing, matt and gloss lamination, window patching, rope and ribbon handles, rigid box construction. The premium end of the range is genuinely premium — the same factory produces handmade luxury bags and rigid gift boxes.
Artwork we can work with
Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) are ideal. A high-resolution PNG or a photo of your current packaging is enough for us to redraw — and we confirm colours in Pantone before anything goes to press. Design support is included; there is no separate studio fee.
Storage and call-off, so a print run does not sit in your storeroom
A bigger run costs less per unit, but most kitchens have nowhere to put it. We can take delivery of your run, hold it, and release pallets or parcels against a schedule you set.

Collection and sorting rules differ by member state and by municipality. We will tell you what a specification does in your market rather than what it does in principle.
Compliance in the EU market
Selling food packaging in the union means working within the Single-Use Plastics Directive, food-contact regulation EU 10/2011, and national extended-producer-responsibility schemes that differ market by market and by product.
Which specification is right for your market and your use is your decision to make. We will share the manufacturer’s documentation for any product so you can make it, and we are happy to help where we can — but we are a supplier, not a compliance advisor.
On certification, we are precise about whose it is. The certificates below are held by the manufacturing facilities we produce with, and copies are available on request. Where a claim needs certification in our own name — an FSC chain-of-custody claim, for example — we will say so rather than imply it.
Certification scope varies by product line and by facility.
How we source
We work with a small number of long-term manufacturing partners rather than a broad broker network — one for corrugated, one for paper and board food service, one for rigid, one for premium print, and two specialist bio-material producers.
That is deliberate. Consistency between runs, a direct line to the factory floor when something needs changing, and a real answer when you ask where a product was made.

BA Packaging is a Dutch company supplying made-to-order food service and industrial packaging across the European Union.
Ten years of practice, applied to a new market
Our co-founder spent over a decade building a packaging supply business in the United Kingdom — learning which specifications survive a busy service, which factories hold their quality between runs, and how to keep a kitchen supplied without tying up its cash.
BA Packaging takes that model to the continent, working directly with the manufacturers and arranging freight to your sites anywhere in the European Union.
We are deliberately small: a handful of us, direct contact with the factory, and no layer of account management between you and a decision.
Production runs take four to six weeks, four being the minimum. We say four to six weeks. Packaging failures are nearly always scheduling failures.
If we think a product is wrong for your service, we will say so. The specification is your call — we would rather you made it with the full picture.
No price lists. Unit cost moves with specification, quantity, print and delivery point, so we price against your actual usage.

Do you hold stock?
No — everything we supply is made to order against your specification. If you want a buffer, we can hold your production run for you and release it against a schedule; ask for storage and call-off on your enquiry.
What is the minimum order?
Minimums depend on the product and the print, and we would rather confirm a real number on your quotation than publish one that turns out to be wrong for you. Tell us what you need and we will tell you the smallest run that makes sense.
How long does an order take?
Four to six weeks from artwork approval, including freight, with four weeks as the minimum. Repeat runs from an approved design are usually quicker. If you have a hard date, tell us at enquiry stage and we will tell you honestly whether it is possible.
Why are there no prices on the site?
Because there is no single right number. Unit cost moves with specification, quantity, print, finish and delivery point — a published price would be wrong for almost everybody. Every product here is quoted against your actual requirement, and quotations are valid for 30 days.
Where do you deliver?
Across the European Union. Multi-site groups can have a single order split across countries on one invoice, with one contact and one schedule.
Can I see a sample first?
Samples are available on request. Plain samples can usually be requested from production; a sample printed with your own artwork takes considerably longer, as it is produced specially. Ask on your enquiry and we will tell you what is possible, and how long it would take, for the specific product.
Can I supply my own artwork?
Please do. Vector files are ideal, but a logo image or a photo of your current packaging is enough — we will redraw it, confirm the colours in Pantone and send a proof. Design support is included.
How do you handle EU compliance?
We can supply the manufacturer’s certification and technical documentation for any product on request, so you can confirm it against the rules that apply in your market and to your use. Compliance decisions sit with you as the buyer; we will help where we can.
Do you supply distributors?
Yes, with unbranded product, neutral documentation and container or part-container quantities.
Can I order online?
No, and that is by design — every order is a specification rather than a product code. Send your requirement through the form and we will come back to you as quickly as we can.
